    1 1 5 The people in chargeback assistance were not sympathetic or helpful. As a merchant service provider, SBGA should want to support their customers to do as much online business as possible. In order to do that, their customers must be protected in some way and from what I understand they are. I received two chargebacks despite matching billing/shipping addresses, zip code avs match, and CVV match. The woman I spoke to said that if the card was in fact stolen and the purchase was fraudulent that there was nothing that could be done and that I would be liable for the losses, which have already been debited from my account. Of course I do not believe that someone who had their credit card stolen should have to pay for goods that they did not order and never received but neither should our company when we are following best business practices. If this kind of things continues to happen we will have no choice but to stop doing business online. As our merchant service provider I was expecting more assistance or at least some sympathy and kind words. Instead I was told that if after the investigation into my dispute the transaction is still considered fraud that the only way I would be able to get the money back would be to find these people who stole the credit card information and press charges in small claims court. That is absolutely ridiculous. I expected the customer service in the charge back department to be at the very least more helpful in preventing such things in the future and providing me with the resources I need to get through this and understand everything. From what I understand, the card issuing financial institution is supposed to be liable for such things because it was an online purchase and the card was not present. I would like to be contacted regarding my dissatisfaction with the level of service from SBGA. 1
